Three Muses Challenge- Mail Art

This week's challenge at Three Muses Challenge blog is Mail Art. With Thanksgiving on the horizon I decided to make it the theme of my entry. My first piece of Mail Art I went in for a some what tradition look.

While looking through my Dover Book of "" Women , A Pictorial Archive From Nineteenth-Century Sources" I came across the illustration of the over worked Mother and thought ,"Been there, Done that!"
With all the preparation that goes into the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, I knew she needed a little acknowledgement and applause. So I used Mother for my second entry into day's Mail Art Challenge.

Both pieces are superb, Paulette. We don't observe a Thanksgiving in Australia but I am always fascinated to read about the traditions involved. These slices of tradition are exquisite. Great work.

Well, loud applause from me, Paulette, for both pieces but a standing ovation for your frazzled Mum coping with preparations AND baby.

I love both your Thanksgiving envelopes, Paulette. Reaching advanced age means passing the torch to younger family members for the traditional Thanksgiving feast. I miss having left-overs to snack on after everyone goes home! Turkey sandwiches the next day are the best of all. Now I go to my son's, take my famous three-corn casserole, enjoy the great grandchildren and savor the family fix!

Both pieces of art are very inspirative. I am so happy to be part of this challenge. You found the perfect combination between the thanksgiving theme and the traditional images.
